The board of BELVIR organizes the Annual BELVIR Symposium, where Belgian virologists gather to share new insights from state-of-the-art virological research from Belgium and abroad.

The delegates come from all virology-oriented institutions located in Flanders, Wallonia or the Brussels region. The broad audience covers:

• Academic researchers studying viruses from a basic science angle
• Infectiologists addressing clinical, epidemiological and surveillance issues
• Applied virologists who use or develop diagnostics, vaccines or antiviral drugs in an academic or industrial setting.

Since BELVIR wishes to stimulate the career of young investigators, pre- and postdoctoral fellows are strongly encouraged to submit an abstract and apply for oral presentation.

Registration for the Annual BELVIR Symposium automatically includes one-year membership of the BELVIR Society.
