Post-doc position (full salary and grant) – GIGA, University of Liege

The project will involve studying HLTF, which is a restriction factor against the HTLV-1 retrovirus. The consequence of HLTF-mediated restriction is that the infected cell releases extracellular particles and escapes from T-cell cytotoxicity. HLTF may thus act as a restriction factor that limits the infectious cycle but concomitantly also favours immune escape and clonal expansion of the host cell. The goal of this project is to understand this apparent paradox.

Based on this, the project aims to:
- evaluate the T-cell response in cell cultures
- quantify the modes of viral replication in mouse models.
